An alternator is a generator of electric power in your car and is a major component of your vehicle’s charging system-it charges the battery when the vehicle is running. When your alternator is not working properly, it will no longer be able to provide enough amperage to keep your battery charged. Some common warning signs of a failing alternator include having to jump start your vehicle on a regular basis, dim or flickering headlights and a battery light illuminates on the dashboard.
